What’s In Your E-Fluid Mix? Know The Right Composition

Vaping is considered as an alternative to smoking, far better than the latter. Today the number of vapers across the world is more than 35 million and is expected to cross 55 million by 2021. What makes the vaping process exciting? The phenomena? Or the fluid? Well, the answer to the question is both, however, the fluid plays an important role in the process of vaping. Know exciting facts about your e-fluid here!

    1. What’s e-fluid?

E-fluid or vape juice is the major component of a vape that gives the vaping experience. It is filled in the canister and heated through a small heater. On heating, the liquid turns into an aerosol, which is further inhaled. Different types of vape juice available at this store might contain some secret ingredients but the common ingredients of the fluid are-

    • Water
    • Propylene glycol
    • Vegetable glycerine
    • Nicotine and
    • Flavourings

    2.Propylene glycol

Propylene glycol or PG is an alcohol with a faintly sweet taste. It is used in proportion with VG or instead of VG. Since it is a preservative, vape juice tends to last longer, however, it is not preferred by cloud lovers because it does not produce more vapor. Although PG is considered harmless, some people are allergic to it and if you are one, then it’s better to stick with VG.

    3.Vegetable glycerine

Also termed as VG, vegetable glycerine is specially designed for modern atomizers. It is a colorless, non-toxic, viscous sweetener, preservative as well as a thickening agent and can be efficiently used up to 80%. VG is generally extracted from palm oil, coconut oil or soyabean oil and considered safe for consumption by the FDA.

    4.Nicotine

It is one of the important contents of e-cig that makes it feel like a normal cigarette. There are e-cigs available in the market with different level of nicotine composition. It can be as low as zero or as high as 32mg depending on the vaper. A heavy concentration of nicotine can cause situations like headache or nausea whereas low composition might result in an unsatisfying vaping experience.

In vape juice composition, nicotine is measured as milligram per millilitre format (mg/ml). One can follow the following categories to choose the right amount of nicotine they need in their vape juice.

    • Light smokers – these are the people who smoke less than 10 cigarettes a day. They should have 3mg of nicotine in their juice.
    • Medium smokers – medium smokers smoke between 10 to 20 cigarettes in a day and should have 12 mg of nicotine in their vape juice.
    • Heavy smokers – these people can smoke more than 20 cigarettes a day. Hence should have a nicotine concentration of 18 mg.

You can slowly decrease the nicotine concentration of the vape to switch to zero nicotine.

    5.Flavorings

There are thousands or more varieties of flavouring available in the market that your tongue would like to savor. However, they might feel good with first 2-3 inhalation and can leave a bad after taste. Therefore, choose the right vape flavor with food-grade safety.

    6.Water

It is the common ingredient of vape that can’t be avoided.
